Please visit our school website to access the most up to date information on Graduation 2022.  Graduation information

School graduation information

The Graduation ceremony will take place on Thursday June 9th at 6:00pm in the Energy Centre arena.  Students will need to arrive at school by 5:00pm in order to pick up their cap and gown.  This is a regular class day.

Graduation fees can be paid on SchoolCash onlineThe $60 fee covers: the cost of the facility rental, the $10 sitting fee for grad photos, the keeper gown, hat and tassel, as well as other incidental costs.

The FIRST version of the 2022 CLHS Grad List has been posted at the SST office. It includes ALL students who have the POTENTIAL to graduate this year based on:

- The credits they have already received and

- The courses in which they are currently registered.

The SECOND version of this list will be posted on April 1st. For that list, students will be REMOVED if they are:

- Failing a required course and/or

- Behind in achieving required modules.

They can earn their way back on to subsequent lists by achieving a passing grade in required courses and/or being on track for completing the required modules.

In order to make the Final Grad List (May 19), students must meet the following requirements:

- Grades in all second-semester courses are a minimum of 45%

- Have to be attending classes regularly during the second semester. This means 75% attendance in ALL classes.

- Have to have completed ALL major assessments in ALL courses during the second semester.

- Have to have paid all school fees and fees for participating on a school team.

Making the final grad list DOES NOT ensure graduation. Students must meet the criteria set by Alberta Education in order to receive their high school diploma or certificate of completion.

PLEASE MAKE SURE THE NAME ON THIS LIST IS THE ONE THAT YOU WISH TO HAVE ON YOUR HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA/CERTIFICATE OF HIGH SCHOOL ACHIEVEMENT

If it does not, please email jennifer.johnson@nlsd.ab.ca ASAP with the correct version of your name.

Graduation photo retakes will take place on April 4 & 5.  We would like all students to have their photo taken if they missed the first session.  These are the only photos that are used in the graduation composite that will be on display in the school.  The photos are also used in the graduation ceremony. The cost of the basic sitting fee is covered in your grad fees.  If you would like the extended sitting fee which allows you to order photos for your personal use there will be an additional $15 fee.    With the additional package you will receive 16-20 proofs and the use of a cap, gown and props.   You can sign up for a photo session using this link: Lifetouch.  If you are getting retakes, please bring back your proofs from the first photo session and then you will not need to pay the sitting fee again.

On April 5 & 6 Jostens will come to school over the lunch hour for any students that are interested in purchasing graduation rings.  Please see the attached document for more information from Jostens.

Parent planned graduation information

The next Graduation Parent committee meeting will take place on April 20, 2022, at 6:00pm.  The meeting will take place in the Learning Commons at school.

The students have voted and plans for the parent organized portion of graduation are underway.  These plans are subject to change based on COVID restrictions that may be in place at that time.  The event will take place on Friday June 10th, beginning at 3:30pm with the Grand March. Students will need to arrive by 3:00pm. This is a Family Friday so there is no school that day.  There will be a group photo following the Grand March.  It will take approximately one hour to set up for the casual reception and social event (parents will be needed). Doors will open for the casual reception at 6:00pm. There will be light snacks served as well as photo booths, dance floor and DJ.  The theme for the event will be “Great Gatsby”.    If you have any questions about the details of the event please contact the parent committee at clhsgrad2022@gmail.com

The parent group is looking for Grad fundraiser volunteers for the U18 Female Hockey Provincials, April1-3.  They need volunteers to do music/announcing, game sheet, penalty box door and score clock.  A donation will be made to help offset the costs of the parent planned graduation celebration.  If you can volunteer for a game please email clhsgrad2022@gmail.com or call Teresa at 780 812-5276.

If you have any questions please reach out to me at carla.babiuk@nlsd.ab.ca or (780) 639-0039.
